This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.
β’ Supervise the technical implementation of large-scale battery storage projects from the design phase through to construction and commissioning.
β’ Act as the main point of contact for technical inquiries, engineering coordination, and project assistance.
β’ Oversee technical scopes, engineering timelines, project stakeholders, and deliverables to ensure effective project execution.
β’ Create technical specifications and assist in vendor assessments, supplier qualifications, testing, and commissioning procedures.
β’ Aid in procurement and tendering processes by drafting technical requirements, organizing supplier information, maintaining technical Q&A logs, and assessing EPC bidder proposals.
β’ Manage external engineering consultants and facilitate technical coordination and design review meetings.
β’ Evaluate and synchronize engineering designs and technical documentation from suppliers, consultants, and contractors, pinpointing gaps and driving timely resolutions.
β’ Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering requirements across electrical, civil, structural, mechanical, controls, and balance-of-plant systems.
β’ Review Factory Acceptance Test procedures and reports to ensure they meet project criteria.
β’ Conduct site inspections to verify that construction and installation activities conform to approved designs, drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
β’ Provide technical assistance during construction and commissioning phases, aiding in the resolution of design, installation, and project execution challenges.
β’ A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or a comparable mix of education and relevant technical experience.
β’ Minimum of five years of experience in project engineering, systems engineering, or similar technical roles supporting intricate energy, power, or electrical infrastructure projects.
β’ In-depth understanding of low- and medium-voltage electrical systems, including cable sizing, short-circuit and load-flow analysis, protective-device coordination, and arc-flash studies.
β’ Proficient in reviewing engineering designs, drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation to identify deficiencies and resolve technical challenges.
β’ Knowledgeable about grid-interconnection requirements and relevant renewable energy and energy storage codes and standards, including UL, NFPA, IEEE, NETA, NERC, and applicable regional market regulations.
β’ Experience in supporting procurement and technical evaluations for major electrical equipment such as inverters, transformers, and switchgear.
β’ Willingness to travel up to 25% within Canada and the United States, including occasional multi-day site visits.
β’ Familiarity with EMS, SCADA, PPCs, PLCs, IT/OT networks, communication protocols, and related control systems is a plus.
β’ Understanding of balance-of-plant systems, including UPS systems, fire detection and suppression, HVAC, and auxiliary electrical systems, is advantageous.
