This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
β’ Act as the primary technical liaison between customers and TOPPAN for the Flexibles Division.
β’ Collaborate with the Commercial Team to identify and develop flexible packaging opportunities within targeted accounts.
β’ Lead technical initiatives to enhance sales of existing structures, create new flexible packaging solutions, drive cost efficiencies, and elevate product performance.
β’ Foster and sustain robust technical relationships with customers.
β’ Convert customer requirements into TOPPAN specifications and create manufacturing instructions.
β’ Ensure the product portfolio is in line with business objectives and customer demands.
β’ Establish project success metrics, analyze data, provide technical recommendations, and oversee fast-paced, high-profile projects.
β’ Design and manage pilot, production, and filling/packing trials; compile trial reports.
β’ Coordinate activities utilizing both internal and external resources.
β’ Deliver regular technical support services.
β’ Create and present written and verbal communications, project plans, updates, and periodic reports.
β’ Travel both domestically and internationally to manufacturing facilities, suppliers, customers, conferences, and innovation partners.
β’ Maintain comprehensive and accurate work documentation, including intellectual property records.
β’ In-depth knowledge of material science (including OPP, PET, PE films, Nylon, paper, and foil laminations).
β’ Experience in new product development, flexible packaging applications, project management, and customer engagement.
β’ Significant expertise in key growth sectors of food packaging, such as retort, hot fill, hard-to-hold products, personal care, home care, and consumer healthcare packaging.
β’ Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, preferably in Engineering, Food Science, Packaging, or Plastics.
β’ 5-10 years of experience in Flexible Packaging Product Development and manufacturing processes, including printing (roto/flexo), laminating (adhesive and extrusion), coating, slitting, pouching, and form/fill/seal conversion.
β’ 5-10 years of experience developing packaging for retort, hot fill, hard-to-hold, and liquid applications.
β’ Proximity to a major airport is essential.
