This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.
β’ Oversee the technical implementation of utility-scale battery storage projects from the design phase through construction and commissioning.
β’ Serve as the technical liaison for assigned projects, managing requests and escalating complex issues as necessary.
β’ Handle the assigned technical scope, engineering timelines, project stakeholders, and deliverables.
β’ Create and evaluate technical specifications while assisting with vendor reviews, supplier qualifications, testing, and commissioning processes.
β’ Aid in procurement and tendering efforts by formulating technical requirements, coordinating supplier information, maintaining technical Q&A logs, and assessing EPC bidder proposals.
β’ Collaborate with external engineering consultants and facilitate technical coordination and design-review meetings.
β’ Assess and coordinate engineering designs and technical documents from suppliers, consultants, and contractors, identifying discrepancies and supporting prompt resolution of feedback.
β’ Conduct site inspections to ensure that construction and installation activities comply with approved designs, drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
β’ Offer technical assistance during construction and commissioning, helping to resolve design, installation, and project execution challenges.
β’ Review Factory Acceptance Test procedures and reports to ensure they meet project requirements.
β’ A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and pertinent technical experience.
β’ A minimum of two years' experience in project engineering, systems engineering, or a similar technical role.
β’ Basic understanding of low- and medium-voltage electrical systems, including electrical installation design, cable sizing, short-circuit and load-flow analysis, protective-device coordination, and arc-flash studies.
β’ Ability to interpret and evaluate engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation.
β’ General familiarity with grid-interconnection requirements and relevant renewable energy and energy storage regulations and standards, including UL, NFPA, IEEE, NETA, NERC, and pertinent regional market requirements.
β’ Willingness to travel up to 25% within Canada and the United States, including occasional multi-day site visits.
β’ Experience with utility-scale battery energy storage systems, lithium-ion battery technology, medium-voltage substations, or renewable energy projects is an advantage.
β’ Familiarity with balance-of-plant systems, such as UPS systems, fire detection and suppression, HVAC, and auxiliary electrical systems, is also a plus.
