Endocrinology Physician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Deliver direct patient care through a telemedicine platform focusing on obesity and comprehensive diabetes management, which encompasses insulin titration and the management of insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors (CGMs).

• Oversee a patient panel or collaborate with and supervise Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and Registered Dietitians as required.

• Evaluate patient charts and perform both initial and follow-up visits.

• Manage conditions related to Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), and Coronary Artery Disease (CAD)/Cardiovascular (CV) issues.

• Provide advanced treatment planning and offer medical management support for complicated endocrinology cases and urgent concerns.

• Prescribe non-controlled medications for obesity and diabetes.

• Ensure adherence to clinical documentation, protocols, and treatment pathways.

• Support the clinical development of colleagues through constructive feedback and ongoing education.

• Engage in team-based healthcare initiatives.

• Attend departmental meetings and contribute to initiatives aimed at quality improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• MD or DO degree.

• Valid and current Board certification in Endocrinology from the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).

• Two years of clinical experience in obesity medicine or endocrinology with pharmacotherapy, post-residency, OR completion of an accredited Fellowship program in Endocrinology or Obesity Medicine in lieu of experience.

• Active and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state, with the ability to secure additional state licenses; IMLC preferred but not mandatory.

• Currently enrolled in Medicare.

• Proficiency in managing complex co-morbidities, including CKD, ESRD, and CAD/CV conditions.

• Expertise in advanced diabetes management, encompassing CGMs, insulin pumps, and intricate insulin regimens.

• Experience collaborating with APPs, medical residents, or trainees in a clinical academic environment.

• Commitment to evidence-based treatments, behavioral interventions, nutrition, and pharmacotherapy for endocrine disorders and obesity.

• Availability for a W-2 position with a schedule of 32, 36, or 40 hours per week.

• Dedication to patient-centered and culturally competent care.

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

• ABOM certification is highly preferred.

• Experience with synchronous telehealth is preferred.

• Spanish medical fluency is desired but not mandatory.
