Employment and Compliance Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Provide guidance to both internal and external stakeholders on labor, employment, compliance, and various legal issues.

• Advise on global employment law topics, encompassing employee relations, performance management, disciplinary actions, grievances, equity, compensation, benefits, contingent workers, employee classification, and global mobility.

• Draft and negotiate employment-related agreements, including both employment and severance contracts.

• Oversee and support internal investigations related to employee misconduct, legal or policy breaches, employee disputes, and litigation matters.

• Contribute to the development of workplace and compliance policies, processes, and best practices.

• Design and implement company-wide training programs focused on employment and compliance issues.

• Collaborate with external legal counsel in the U.S. and other regions.

• Foster scalable processes and procedures while ensuring high levels of internal client satisfaction.

• Work in partnership with the Legal team and other departments on legal and compliance responsibilities, including managing employee compliance policies.

• Utilize Chainalysis’ risk appetite to make sound, risk-conscious business decisions.

• Cultivate a deep understanding of Chainalysis’ products, services, and business model.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctorate degree.

• 4–6 years of experience at a prestigious law firm and in-house at a SaaS, data services, or technology company.

• Active member of a U.S. state bar in good standing.

• Proficiency in U.S. and international employment law matters.

• Experience advising organizations in a practical and commercially viable manner.

• Strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, critical thinking abilities, and sound judgment.

• Ability to foresee and mitigate risks while knowing when and how to escalate concerns.

• Capable of independently managing tasks while also collaborating across the organization.

• Possess an independent, patient, and thoughtful approach; adept at handling changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience advising executives in rapidly growing technology firms (preferred).

• Familiarity with or interest in the cryptocurrency and blockchain sector (preferred).
