This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the main legal advisor on matters related to human resources, talent acquisition, and employment law.
• Collaborate with People/HR and senior leadership throughout the employee lifecycle, encompassing recruitment, hiring, performance management, offboarding, and executive compensation.
• Draft, review, and enhance offer letters, employment contracts, restrictive covenant agreements, severance packages, and agreements for consultants/independent contractors.
• Monitor, interpret, and provide guidance on federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, state pay transparency laws, and compliance for remote work.
• Oversee and carry out internal workplace investigations in conjunction with HR.
• Develop, revise, and implement HR policies, employee handbooks, and workplace guidelines.
• Manage external litigation counsel regarding employment-related claims, agency charges, and disputes.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and provide counsel on vendor agreements, SaaS agreements, NDAs, and MSAs.
• Offer legal support for M&A integration, corporate restructuring, and international expansion initiatives.
• Identify legal risks and suggest proactive, scalable solutions that align with business strategy.
• Report directly to the Chief Legal Officer.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state.
• Core expertise in employment law, labor regulations, and workplace compliance.
• Experience in drafting and negotiating standard commercial contracts.
• Outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• High level of discretion, integrity, and sound professional judgment.
• Self-starter mentality capable of managing multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.
• 3+ years of relevant legal experience in employment law and general corporate law (preferred).
• Previous law firm experience in an employment, labor, or corporate practice group (preferred).
• In-house experience at a high-growth tech, digital health, or SaaS company (preferred).
• Knowledge of multi-state employment law considerations in a hybrid or fully remote workplace model (preferred).
