This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues throughout the organization for all employees.
β’ Offer guidance, consultation, and assistance to leaders and employees on workplace and performance challenges, policy interpretation, investigations, conflict resolution, and employment practices.
β’ Function as the Human Resources subject matter expert in employee relations, workplace investigations, corrective actions, performance improvement documentation, and employment risk management.
β’ Collaborate with Human Resources Business Partners, Legal, and business leaders to deliver consistent guidance and support.
β’ Oversee intricate employee relations issues, which include workplace investigations, ethics hotline reports, and concerns regarding policy breaches, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and employee grievances.
β’ Compile investigation summaries, findings, recommendations, and supporting documents while ensuring confidentiality.
β’ Keep accurate case documentation and reporting in line with company record retention policies.
β’ Interpret employment legislation, company policies, and HR procedures to ensure consistent, equitable, and legally compliant outcomes.
β’ Foster trusted relationships with leaders, Human Resources Business Partners, and cross-functional stakeholders.
β’ Advise leaders and Human Resources Business Partners on workplace issues, employee behavior, policy interpretation, and complex employment concerns.
β’ Track employee relations trends and suggest proactive strategies to enhance leadership effectiveness, employee engagement, and workplace culture.
β’ Assist with organizational changes, workforce transitions, and reduction-in-force initiatives through employee relations expertise and risk evaluation.
β’ Provide support for unemployment claims, responses to administrative agencies, and documentation related to employment matters.
β’ Identify opportunities to enhance Human Resources policies, procedures, manager resources, and employee relations practices.
β’ Design and lead training for managers on employee relations subjects.
β’ Execute other responsibilities as assigned.
β’ A Bachelorβs degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field is required.
β’ A Professional Human Resources certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) is preferred.
β’ Over 7 years of progressive Human Resources experience with substantial responsibility in employee relations, workplace investigations, performance management, and employment law.
β’ A minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience within a property and casualty insurance carrier is required.
β’ Proven experience in conducting independent workplace investigations and managing complex employee relations situations.
β’ Experience collaborating directly with business leaders, Human Resources Business Partners, and Legal to address complex employment issues.
β’ Demonstrated ability to interpret employment laws, manage employment risks, and consistently apply Human Resources policies across the organization.
β’ Comprehensive knowledge of employee relations principles, workplace investigations, employment law, and Human Resources best practices.
β’ Strong understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulatory requirements.
β’ Familiarity with property and casualty insurance operations, organizational structures, and business functions.
β’ Exceptional investigative, interviewing, documentation, and analytical abilities.
β’ Strong skills in conflict resolution, mediation, and problem-solving.
β’ Capability to evaluate employment risk and provide practical, business-oriented recommendations.
β’ Excellent consultative and relationship-building skills.
β’ Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
β’ Capacity to manage highly sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
β’ Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
β’ Proficiency with Human Resources information systems, Microsoft Office applications, and case management documentation.
β’ Ability to exercise sound judgment while balancing legal compliance, employee experience, and business objectives.
