Emergency Services Specialist – Limited License

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Deliver emergency services to clients on a rotating schedule, which includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Offer clinical care services to those experiencing severe mental health issues or emotional distress.

• Conduct interviews to collect clinical histories for psychosocial evaluations.

• Complete initial bio-psychosocial evaluations.

• Assist with medication setup and monitor compliance through “eyes on” supervision.

• Facilitate linkage, referrals, and ongoing case management oversight.

• Provide individual, group, and family therapy; perform psychosocial evaluations, mental status exams, diagnoses, and care management.

• Conduct or coordinate psychological, personality, and intelligence assessments, integrating findings into personalized service plans.

• Design and implement therapeutic treatments and interventions.

• Collaborate with treatment teams to revise service plans as needed.

• Coordinate consultations, reporting, referrals, and services with agency personnel, community organizations, and external healthcare providers.

• Assess clinical outcomes and measure individual satisfaction.

• Carry out clinical peer reviews of assessments that result in denied CMH services.

• Create, execute, review, and update service plans with clients.

• Document all contacts within 24 hours in client records.

• Assist with applications for financial aid, including SSI, SSDI, Medicaid, GA, and MA.

• Conduct SSI level-of-care assessments and liaise with the Social Security Administration.

• Perform emergency psychiatric evaluations and triage either in-person or via telephone.

• Develop individualized safety plans and connect clients to relevant services.

• Educate clients, families, guardians, and staff.

• Maintain case files in compliance with agency, regulatory, and accreditation standards.

• Coordinate voluntary and involuntary hospitalizations and collaborate with Probate Court.

• Advocate for the needs and rights of individuals.

• Adhere to agency policies and procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling.

• Licensure in the State of Michigan as a Limited Licensed Master’s Social Worker, Licensed Master’s Social Worker, Temporary Limited Licensed Psychologist, Limited Licensed Psychologist, Temporary Licensed Professional Counselor, or Licensed Professional Counselor.

• Must achieve full clinical licensure within 6 months of becoming eligible.

• Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.

• Must have successfully completed high school or obtained a GED.

• Possession of a valid driver’s license.

• Must satisfy state qualifications to acquire QMHP, QIDP, and CMHP status.

• Follow training requirements set by licensing authorities, accreditation organizations, MDHHS, and NorthCare Network upon hiring, annually, and as required.
