This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding across four or more specialties for one or multiple clients or facilities.
• Execute Professional Fee, Facility, or HCC coding, including inpatient coding or coding spanning various specialties.
• Offer coding services to enhance client support.
• Calculate ProFee and/or Facility E/M levels utilizing the company algorithm.
• Identify critical care cases based on patient acuity levels.
• Code surgical procedures typical in an emergency room setting to optimize revenue capture when suitable.
• Apply ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes with the utmost specificity.
• Accurately apply ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT®, and HCPCS diagnosis and procedure codes.
• Interpret coding guidelines to ensure precise code assignment.
• Recognize the influence of documentation on code assignment and reimbursement.
• Uphold necessary quality and productivity standards.
• Engage professionally with clients to build strong working relationships.
• Support Leadership or the Lead Coding Specialist with reports as required.
• Potentially assist with auditing tasks.
• Participate in training and educational programs provided by the company.
• Safeguard confidential information, including Personal Health Information.
• Adhere to AHIMA ethical coding standards, the Company’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, and the Ethics and Compliance Program.
• AAPC certification (CPC or COC) or AHIMA certification (CCS or CCS-P) is required.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Advanced proficiency with EMR and billing systems.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Capability to open and modify spreadsheets, perform basic calculations, and create basic pivot tables in Excel.
• Ability to manage emails and schedule as well as attend meetings in Outlook.
• Up-to-date CPT and ICD-10-CM coding references.
• Demonstrate regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.
• Maintain a productivity rate of 95% or higher consistently.
• Achieve and sustain a quality score of 95% or higher.
• Exhibit effective and professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines effectively.
• Capacity to work independently from home.
• Ability to operate at a computer terminal for 6–8 hours daily.
• Occasionally lift and move materials weighing up to 20 lbs.
