This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Design and implement email marketing strategies that align with client goals, target audiences, and business objectives.
• Perform email marketing audits to uncover optimization and growth opportunities.
• Formulate campaign strategies and recommendations driven by performance data, customer behavior, and business priorities.
• Create and maintain creative and campaign schedules.
• Suggest email cadence, segmentation, messaging, and customer journey strategies.
• Oversee the complete campaign creation process, including strategy, content direction, design, development, QA/testing, scheduling/deployment, and reporting.
• Craft and design brand-aligned emails that are optimized for mobile, usability, deliverability, and conversion rates.
• Manage one-off email projects from the initial briefing to final execution.
• Construct, enhance, and oversee automated email flows and customer journeys.
• Evaluate flows and suggest improvements in timing, segmentation, messaging, creative elements, and conversions.
• Discover further automation and lifecycle marketing possibilities.
• Monitor campaign and flow performance while generating recurring and ad hoc reports.
• Analyze key performance indicators such as open rates, click-through rates, conversions, revenue, engagement, and unsubscribe rates.
• Convert data into insights and actionable recommendations.
• Act as elk Marketing’s in-house expert on email marketing.
• Assist with urgent, time-sensitive, and non-outsourced email projects.
• Address challenges related to email strategy, creative aspects, platform issues, and execution.
• Contribute to the enhancement of email marketing capabilities, procedures, and best practices.
• Collaborate with creative, account, strategy, and marketing teams to ensure alignment of initiatives across various channels.
• Manage project status, priorities, timelines, blockers, tracking, confidentiality, and policy compliance as an independent contractor.
• 1–3 years of professional experience in an email marketing role within an agency.
• Practical experience in developing and executing email marketing campaigns.
• Proven experience in building automated email flows and customer journeys.
• Familiarity with email marketing strategies, creative development, and reporting.
• Strong understanding of email marketing best practices, including segmentation, personalization, testing, deliverability, and optimization.
• Experience in designing and/or building emails using an email marketing platform.
• Comfort with interpreting email performance data and translating insights into actionable recommendations.
• High proficiency in at least one major email marketing platform, with a willingness to work across multiple platforms.
• Preferred experience with Klaviyo, ActiveCampaign, HubSpot, Figma, and Asana.
• Exceptional attention to detail and dedication to quality assurance.
• Ability to independently manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Capacity to work collaboratively while taking full ownership of projects from initiation to completion.
• Work authorization/location: independent contractor based in Canada.
