This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Deliver designated course content in an online setting.
• Provide instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process.
• Tailor learning experiences and differentiate instruction based on student proficiency.
• Offer both synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities.
• Track student progress using Stride K12's learning management system.
• Enhance course materials with approved synchronous and asynchronous tools.
• Manage the grade book while ensuring academic integrity for students.
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion.
• Notify administrators about any concerns related to student performance and progress.
• Prepare students for critical standardized assessments.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with families.
• Communicate with and respond to students and parents/learning coaches promptly.
• Assist parents/learning coaches with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting issues.
• Travel for professional development, student assessments, and other school-related obligations.
• North Carolina Teaching Certification is mandatory.
• An elementary certificate is required.
• Candidate must reside in North Carolina.
• A Bachelor's degree is required.
• An active state teaching license is necessary.
• Must be able to pass the required background check.
• Capability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week.
• Ability to maintain a professional home office environment without distractions during work hours.
• Willingness to travel as needed, averaging about once per month and/or approximately 20% of the time.
• Experience working with the specified age group.
• Familiarity with supporting adults and children in technology usage.
• Background in teaching in either an online or traditional classroom setting.
• Experience with online learning platforms is a plus.
• Ability to collaborate with fellow educators to analyze and create numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data to inform instructional decisions.
• Commitment to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and proficiency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
