Elementary School Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Deliver designated course material in a virtual setting

• Offer instruction, assistance, and direction

• Oversee the educational process with a focus on the individual needs of students

• Track student progress using Stride K12’s learning management system

• Collaborate closely with students and their parents/learning coaches to promote learning towards set objectives

• Provide dynamic and engaging synchronous and asynchronous educational experiences

• Tailor learning experiences to meet the needs of all students

• Differentiate instruction based on students' mastery levels

• Enhance course materials utilizing appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools under the guidance of the principal and coach

• Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity

• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion

• Notify administrators about concerns related to student performance and progress

• Prepare students for important standardized tests

• Establish and nurture positive relationships with families

• Communicate and respond to students and learning coaches/parents promptly

• Assist learning coaches/parents with curriculum and instructional challenges

• Provide basic troubleshooting support in a virtual classroom setting

• Travel for professional development, student assessments, and other school obligations

⛳️ Requirements

• Florida 5 Year Professional Elementary Certificate

• Reading Endorsement

• ESOL Endorsement

• Requirement for Florida residency

• Bachelor's degree

• Valid active state teaching license

• Ability to pass the necessary background check

• Capability to work independently, generally 40+ hours each week

• Ability to maintain a professional home office free of distractions during work hours

• Ability to work typically from 9-5 or 8-4, or as defined by the school

• Must be willing to travel as needed, averaging once per month and/or roughly 20% of the time

• Experience with the targeted age group is preferred

• Experience aiding adults and children in technology usage is preferred

• Experience teaching in online or brick-and-mortar settings is preferred

• Familiarity with online learning platforms is preferred

• Ability to interpret and generate numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data is preferred

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint is preferred

• Capability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms is preferred

• Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum is preferred
