Elementary Reading Tutor, English/Spanish, K-8

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +37 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver virtual tutoring in math and/or reading for K–8 students.

• Implement best-practice lessons and supplementary materials that are pre-designed.

• Provide focused assistance to help students enhance their skills in areas at or below their grade level.

• Ensure student behavior and engagement remain high during virtual sessions.

• Offer practice time for students along with constructive feedback.

• Create a supportive and motivating learning atmosphere.

• Conduct consistent, recurring weekly sessions with students.

• Select the grade levels for tutoring.

• Schedule tutoring sessions based on personal availability.

• Engage in application, demonstration, and onboarding processes.

• If invited, complete a five-minute recorded introduction and demonstration of tutoring style.

• Establish a payment account and fulfill necessary onboarding tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience as a classroom teacher, in EL/ESL/ELL roles, tutoring, coaching, or similar student support fields.

• Prior experience in online instruction.

• A college degree is preferred.

• Capability to deliver pre-designed math lessons and provide targeted support to students.

• Ability to foster meaningful professional relationships with students and create an encouraging, motivating learning environment.

• Access to a computer (laptop or desktop) and a webcam.

• A clean, distraction-free workspace.

• Reliable high-speed internet connection of at least 20 Mbps.

• Must reside in and tutor from one of the designated eligible states or Washington, DC.

• All sessions must be conducted from within the 50 United States or Washington, DC.

• Availability for at least one hour from Monday through Thursday between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM ET is often required.

• Ability to attend at least 80% of the claimed sessions.

• Active involvement in the application and onboarding process.

• A clear result on an in-person fingerprint-based FBI background check.
