This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Deliver designated course material in a virtual setting
• Offer guidance, instruction, and support while overseeing the educational process
• Tailor learning experiences to address the unique needs of each student
• Track student advancement using Stride K12’s learning management platform
• Provide both synchronous and asynchronous educational experiences
• Differentiate teaching methods based on students' mastery levels
• Enhance course content with suitable synchronous and asynchronous tools, guided by the principal and coach
• Maintain accurate grade records and uphold academic integrity
• Make decisions regarding student placement and advancement
• Notify administrators of any issues related to student performance and progress
• Prepare students for important standardized assessments
• Establish and nurture positive relationships with families
• Communicate promptly with students and learning coaches/parents
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting
• Travel for professional development, student assessments, and other school-related obligations
• Required Michigan Teaching Certification
• Must possess a PE endorsement
• Residency in Michigan is mandatory
• Bachelor's degree is required
• Active state teaching license is necessary
• Capability to pass the required background check
• Ability to work independently, typically over 40 hours per week
• Must maintain a professional home office free from distractions during work hours, typically 9–5 or 8–4
• Willingness to travel as needed, averaging once a month and/or around 20% of the time
• Preferred experience working with the designated age group
• Preferred experience in assisting adults and children with technology usage
• Preferred teaching experience in either online or traditional classroom settings
• Preferred familiarity with online learning platforms
• Ability to analyze and generate numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data to inform instructional choices
• Preferred proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
• Commitment to maintaining teaching certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
