This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Foster a nurturing, supportive, and inclusive school environment.
• Act as a cultural, behavioral, and academic leader in partnership with the Principal.
• Mentor staff and deliver professional development on classroom management and instructional best practices.
• Collaborate with staff and families to enhance student behavior, attendance, engagement, academic achievement, and overall well-being.
• Engage families, community organizations, businesses, and postsecondary institutions to facilitate student transitions.
• Implement behavioral management strategies through strong teacher relationships and positive reinforcement.
• Communicate the school’s mission and vision to the local community and seek stakeholder feedback.
• Develop and oversee a comprehensive Career and Technical Education program.
• Lead instructional initiatives, evaluate curriculum and pedagogy, review lesson plans, and observe classes.
• Organize professional development, staff in-service days, parent-teacher conferences, extended learning, and summer educational programs.
• Collaborate with instructional leaders to ensure adherence to MTSS/RTI processes.
• Work with Human Resources on the recruitment, hiring, retention, recognition, and support of school staff.
• Ensure compliance with nondiscrimination practices and EEO requirements.
• Collaborate on reporting requirements for state, charter authorizers, federal, sponsors, and charter renewals.
• Address compliance issues related to the school’s Sponsor Agreement.
• Assist in the development of parent and student manuals, policies, and handbooks.
• Stay informed on state policies, procedures, and legislation.
• Manage student issues escalated by parents and teachers.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Valid Principal and Teacher licenses in the state of Ohio.
• Ohio residency is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
• Successful completion of federal and state criminal background checks.
• Knowledge of state academic content standards.
• At least seven years of experience in education or a related field.
• Two or more years of experience in successful school administration or instructional leadership.
• An advanced degree in education or educational leadership is highly preferred.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain a rigorous academic program that serves all students effectively.
• Experience with public education accountability, compliance, and related legal requirements.
• Demonstrated capability to create inclusive environments that support diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
• Understanding of and ability to handle confidential information.
• Knowledge of or experience with innovative school designs and instructional models, including blended, inquiry, problem/project-based, and personalized learning.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time.
