Electrical Test Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and execute automated testing systems, procedures, and sequences for electrical and electronic components.

• Incorporate testing instruments, data acquisition systems, and hardware interfaces to facilitate automated measurements and assessments.

• Design test scripts, automation frameworks, and workflows for data analysis.

• Conduct functional, performance, validation, regression, and HIL testing as needed.

• Evaluate test outcomes, troubleshoot hardware and testing configurations, and determine the root causes of issues.

• Assess and verify testing methodologies, results, and technical strategies against project specifications.

• Leverage expertise in electrical test automation for technical problem-solving and expert evaluation tasks.

• Provide human expertise to enhance training and development of AI systems in various projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical industry experience in electrical testing, automation, instrumentation, and hardware validation.

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or a closely related discipline.

• Proficient in developing or implementing automated electrical test systems and working with laboratory instrumentation.

• Expertise in Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, C/C++, or equivalent programming languages.

• Familiarity with test automation, data acquisition, and control protocols like SCPI, GPIB, USB, Ethernet, CAN, or RS-232/485.

• Capability to interpret electrical schematics, test specifications, and technical documentation effectively.

• Preferred experience with ATE, automated test benches, custom test fixtures, NI hardware, LabVIEW/TestStand, PXI/PXIe, or DAQ systems.

• Desired experience with HIL/SIL, automated regression testing, or Python-based test automation.

• Preferably experienced in testing power electronics, batteries, EVs, motors, embedded systems, or other complex electrical hardware.

• Experience with high-voltage or safety-critical systems is advantageous.

• Candidates must be able to operate as independent contractors.

• H1-B and STEM OPT candidates are not eligible.
