Electrical Qualification Agent

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +45 more states.

📋 Description

• Evaluate new electrical installations and assess plans, specifications, drawings, equipment submittals, and associated documentation.

• Obtain, issue, pull, and manage electrical permits across various states and municipalities, including those that may necessitate in-person acquisition.

• Serve as the qualification agent for medium/high- and low-voltage electrical systems, generators, EV chargers, load banks, marine power generation, hydrolyzers, and fuel cells.

• Ensure that the electrical work performed by Cummins employees and subcontractors adheres to NEC and state regulations.

• Perform site visits, conduct checklist reviews, implement JSO processes, execute electrical safety audits, and carry out incident investigations.

• Confirm compliance with required electrical labor, permits, licenses, safety procedures, and testing.

• Oversee technician trainee cards, monitor work hours, facilitate continuing education, and manage state submissions.

• Maintain compliance records and document completed inspections within Cummins systems.

• Foster relationships with state, city, and local regulatory entities.

• Coordinate permitting and scheduling with PEM/PM/Data Center and Start & Test teams.

• Engage in electrical safety meetings and promote technician compliance and safety culture.

• Attend necessary virtual and in-person meetings and undertake other assigned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A college degree, university degree, or an equivalent qualification is required.

• Must hold a current Master Electrician license, equivalent master license, or other necessary electrical licenses in the home state and applicable reciprocal states.

• Must maintain the required work hours and continuing education credits.

• Must possess or be willing to apply for reciprocity electrical licenses for relevant reciprocal states.

• Intermediate level of relevant work experience is required, including experience in team leadership.

• Understanding of NEC and state electrical installation laws and regulations is essential.

• Familiarity with NEC/NFPA70E codes and qualification standards is required.

• Experience with electrical systems, including medium/high- and low-voltage power systems, generator installations, EV charger installations, load bank testing, marine power generation, hydrolyzers, and fuel cells is necessary.

• Willingness to travel extensively, estimated at 75–90% within the home and reciprocal states.

• Availability to attend both virtual and in-person meetings.

• This position may require obtaining licenses to comply with export control or sanctions regulations.
