This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the planning for contractors and craft activities on a utility-scale solar project.
• Guarantee high-quality installation of electrical components, including underground cabling, mod-to-mod wiring, combiner box terminations, and DC collection systems.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to review drawings, constructability, submittals, and feedback.
• Confirm that materials, equipment, and workmanship align with contract documents and specifications.
• Work alongside the Site Manager and the owner’s Project Manager to update project schedules.
• Supervise the work team and uphold quality control standards.
• Manage the interface for connecting project power grids to existing transmission systems.
• Participate in project meetings and act as a liaison between engineers, contractors, and craft workers.
• Foster and maintain teamwork within the project team.
• Build and sustain relationships with site visitors, customers, and contractors.
• Analyze logistics and provide suggestions for improvements.
• Monitor contractor procurement of electrical resources, methods, staffing, look-ahead schedules, and coordination with site activities.
• Ensure that plans, specifications, submittals, and RFIs are transmitted accurately and promptly to subcontractors.
• Supervise contractor safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Ensure that owner-supplied subcontract crews receive necessary resources and support.
• Operate on a 100% travel rotational schedule of 3 weeks on and 6 days off, from Thursday through Tuesday.
• A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience.
• Skilled in the installation, testing, acceptance, maintenance, and repair of DC and medium voltage cables.
• Familiarity with current injection, Hi-pot, capacitance discharge, contact resistance, Megger, TTR, Doble, and other cable and equipment testing methods.
• Competent understanding of electrical drawings, sketches, prints, underground duct banks, trenching, manholes and vaults for collection systems, underground and pad mount transformer usage, and SCADA systems used in the power sector.
• Possess a current, valid state driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Capability to pass a pre-employment background check; additional drug screenings may be required based on job responsibilities.
• Knowledge of LOTO safety procedures and their implementation.
• Detail-oriented, resourceful, and adept at managing shifting priorities.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to engage with contractors positively and effectively.
• Consistent, reliable, and predictable performance.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
• At least 3 years of experience in Renewable (Wind, Solar, Battery) sectors.
• Physical ability to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolding, and stairs; work in confined spaces and around loud equipment.
• Ability to lift and transport or otherwise move 25/50 pounds regularly/occasionally.
• Ability to safely climb ladders while carrying up to 40 pounds.
• Capacity to wear personal protective gear for most of the day.
• Ability to work in cold environments and on concrete flooring.
• Capability to traverse uneven and steep terrain.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in extreme temperatures, humidity, dampness, noise, and around machinery, vehicles, and heavy equipment.
