Electrical Field Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Install, test, and commission electrical systems, which encompass switchgear, transformers, control panels, and power distribution equipment.

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical faults to reduce downtime.

• Review and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.

• Ensure adherence to national and international electrical codes, including NEC, IEC, and IEEE.

• Collaborate with project managers, designers, and contractors for seamless project execution.

• Prepare technical reports, test results, and as-built documentation.

• Conduct both preventive and corrective maintenance.

• Implement and uphold safety procedures and quality standards at job sites.

• Provide technical training and mentorship to technicians and junior engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

• 2–5+ years of field experience, depending on the level of the position.

• Strong grasp of power systems, protection, and control circuits.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP, MATLAB, or similar software tools.

• Familiarity with PLCs, drives, and automation systems is advantageous.

• Willingness to travel and work in field environments.

• Preferred certifications include: Professional Engineer (PE) or EIT certification; OSHA Electrical Safety Certification; NFPA 70E / IEC safety training; HV/LV Switching authorization.
