This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Engage in the development of complex computational challenges related to RF and microwave network analysis.
• Formulate tasks utilizing S-parameters, transmission-line models, impedance behavior, and network characterization.
• Utilize scikit-rf or similar RF engineering software to analyze simulated or measured RF data.
• Construct circuit challenges using ngspice or equivalent circuit-simulation platforms.
• Design workflows for parameter recovery and inverse analysis.
• Generate original graduate-level problems reflecting realistic computational engineering practices.
• Create multi-step reasoning tasks and information-recovery challenges.
• Evaluate problem designs against advanced AI systems and assess model performance.
• Fine-tune scenarios to meet specified technical difficulty levels.
• Develop oracle functions, validators, and reference solutions.
• Ensure problem setups are reproducible and technically well-defined.
• Write Python code for simulation configurations, validation logic, and problem generation workflows.
• Construct reproducible computational workflows within Linux and terminal environments.
• Identify software limitations, numerical edge cases, and modeling assumptions.
• Analyze computational results with strong engineering judgment.
• Possess graduate-level expertise in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Microwave Engineering, Circuit Design, or a closely related STEM field.
• Hold an MS, PhD, or equivalent substantial research experience.
• Demonstrate strong practical experience with RF, microwave, circuit simulation, or computational electrical engineering.
• Exhibit proven proficiency with scikit-rf, ngspice, or similar specialized scientific software.
• Have experience utilizing engineering software in research, professional development, publications, or open-source projects.
• Possess strong Python programming capabilities.
• Have a deep understanding of S-parameters, RF network analysis, circuit behavior, and simulation methodologies.
• Be capable of designing technically challenging problems involving inverse analysis or parameter recovery.
• Be comfortable working in Linux, terminal environments, and remote compute sandboxes.
• Have a solid understanding of numerical limitations, modeling assumptions, and edge cases in scientific software.
• Experience in benchmark design, scientific education, examination development, or problem-set creation is a plus.
• Familiarity with computational reproducibility or containerized environments is highly regarded.
• Availability of approximately 15–20 hours per week is required.
• Work must be accomplished without utilizing any confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, institution, or third party.
• Note that H1-B and STEM OPT support is not available for this engagement.
• Enjoy flexible scheduling that adapts to project requirements.
• Work fully remotely.
• Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project needs and performance.
