Electrical Engineer II – Power Focused

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Independently create detailed designs utilizing industry expertise, company and external standards, along with insights from past projects.

• Implement designs for design-build, plan and specification, and design-assist projects.

• Promote information exchange among design disciplines, field contacts, clients, vendors, utilities, and regulatory agencies.

• Organize site visits by collaborating with onsite teams and processing information afterward.

• Assign tasks to team members by clarifying the objectives and processes of deliverables.

• Contribute technical insights and design recommendations during the estimates and conceptual design phases.

• Complete deliverables across various disciplines or lanes.

• Lead regular project meetings to ensure actionable results.

• Utilize hands-on experience from panel shops, prefabrication, or field work to enrich design knowledge.

• Review, update, and provide training on current standards.

• Mentor and train new team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field from a four-year ABET-accredited program is mandatory.

• 2–4 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience demonstrating the required competencies.

• Graduates must be eligible to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam or have obtained EIT (Engineer in Training) certification prior to graduation.

• Strong understanding of electrical terminology and components.

• Familiarity with electrical symbols.

• Knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC).

• Proficiency in drafting software is preferred.

• Capability to satisfactorily perform each essential duty.

• Travel is necessary and will vary based on business needs; travel should not exceed 25% of your time.
