This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Become a subject matter expert in generation controls
β’ Participate in a balanced training program that includes both fieldwork and office-based analysis
β’ Conduct analysis of field data
β’ Create test plans
β’ Prepare for field operations
β’ Perform calculations for mathematical models
β’ Execute simulations
β’ Document the results of analyses
β’ Guide generation resources through scheduled tests at large power plants
β’ Collect field data for further analysis
β’ Engage directly with instrumentation, control systems, and protection systems within the Bulk Electric System generation
β’ Enhance understanding of industry fundamentals while acquiring skills in generator controls, power systems, controls tuning, simulations, and compliance-related topics
β’ Undergo training for the initial 1β2 years to acquire the skills necessary for independent field operations
β’ Work across hydro, combustion turbine, thermal/nuclear turbine, wind, photovoltaic, and battery energy storage facilities throughout the United States
β’ Balance fieldwork and office responsibilities during the first 2β4 years
β’ A Bachelor or Master of Science degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline focused on controls/power systems, completed or expected
β’ Undergraduate-level knowledge of power generation fundamentals
β’ Familiarity with control theory
β’ Experience using MATLAB/Simulink and similar software
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
β’ Programming skills are advantageous but not mandatory
β’ A passion for travel and meeting new individuals
β’ Authorization to work in the United States is required
β’ Ability to pass a background check and drug test is necessary
β’ Capability to lift up to 50 pounds
β’ Possession of a valid driver's license is essential

β’ Must reside in Pacific or Mountain time zone states
