This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Analyze electrical single-line diagrams, equipment schematics, specifications, and client documentation.
• Assess switchgear, switchboards, motor control centers (MCCs), panelboards, transformers, and associated power distribution apparatus.
• Determine areas where continuous temperature monitoring and other reliability solutions yield optimal benefits.
• Identify monitoring locations, sensors, network components, and hardware needed for each specific application.
• Create marked-up single-line diagrams (SLDs), system layouts, bills of material, technical recommendations, and client quotations.
• Collaborate directly with customers, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), distributors, engineering firms, and Grace sales representatives to address application challenges.
• Offer technical advice on product selection, system architecture, installation, commissioning, and suitability for applications.
• Assist with new applications, pilot projects, and the design of repeatable solutions.
• Relay customer feedback to Grace’s engineering and product teams to enhance current and future solutions.
• Travel is approximately 10% of the time.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a closely related technical discipline.
• Over 5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, applications engineering, power distribution, electrical equipment, or electrical reliability.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical single-line diagrams and equipment schematics.
• Familiarity with low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems.
• Knowledge of circuit breakers, bus systems, conductors, cable terminations, electrical connections, and common failure points.
• Experience in converting technical requirements into system designs, equipment selections, and bills of materials (BOMs).
• Excellent technical, analytical, and communication skills for customer interaction.
• Experience with switchgear, switchboards, MCCs, transformers, or other electrical distribution equipment is advantageous.
• Familiarity with continuous temperature monitoring, predictive maintenance, condition monitoring, or industrial sensing is a plus.
• Background in electrical equipment design, field service, commissioning, or maintenance is beneficial.
• Experience in preparing technical proposals, quotations, or customer-facing applications engineering is helpful.
• Knowledge of industrial communication systems and protocols is advantageous.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, electrical design software, or PDF markup tools is beneficial.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is a plus, though not mandatory.
• Remote work flexibility with occasional travel to Davenport, IA.
