Electrical Engineer, Data Centers

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Assist in designing electrical systems for mission-critical and data center facilities.

• Create designs for medium- and low-voltage power distribution, emergency power, lighting, grounding, and life safety systems.

• Conduct electrical calculations, equipment sizing, load calculations, and engineering analyses.

• Develop electrical plans, one-line diagrams, schedules, details, and specifications under the guidance of a senior engineer.

• Implement NEC and other relevant codes and standards in electrical design and documentation.

• Coordinate designs with architectural, mechanical, structural, civil, and other engineering disciplines.

• Assist senior engineers in addressing technical and construction-related challenges.

• Engage in project meetings and liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.

• Enhance knowledge of data center reliability, redundancy, and maintainability requirements.

• Advance technical and professional skills through projects, mentoring, and training.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in building MEP electrical design.

• Fundamental understanding of electrical power systems and engineering calculations.

• Proficient knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).

• Awareness of relevant building codes, including IBC and IECC.

• Capability to effectively collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.

• Experience with Revit and ACC is preferred.

• Familiarity with SKM or ETAP is a plus.

• EIT certification or progress towards obtaining a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is preferred.

• Experience with mission-critical, data center, healthcare, or other complex building projects is preferred.

• Knowledge of data center reliability, redundancy, and maintainability concepts is preferred.
