This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Create electrical infrastructure for telecommunications and fiber network facilities, including fiber amplification huts and their related utility connections.
• Collaborate with site civil designers on equipment layouts, service entrances, conduit routing, grounding systems, and utility interconnections.
• Design three-phase power distribution systems.
• Liaise with utility providers to coordinate electrical service requirements.
• Draft construction drawings and technical specifications.
• Ensure adherence to relevant electrical codes and standards.
• Act as a senior technical resource and advisor for the team.
• Offer specialized technical insights for studies and designs.
• Establish study and design procedures to ensure high-quality and cost-effective results.
• Engage in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables.
• Generate construction cost estimates and assess technical efforts.
• Complete the electrical discipline section of PS&E packages.
• Conduct quality control assessments of design calculations and drawings.
• Contribute to engineering budgets and schedules.
• Travel occasionally to project sites or the office, approximately 5% of the time.
• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering with six (6) years of professional electrical engineering design experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
• Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD for building design.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• A valid U.S. driver's license is necessary.
• Must successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records review as a condition of employment.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred.
• Experience in leading electrical design for multidisciplinary building projects.
• Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and National Electrical Safety Code (NESC).
• Familiarity with NFPA and IEEE standards relevant to building and power systems.
• Knowledge of the fiber and/or telecom industry.
• Experience conducting power system studies using SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower.
• Proficient with AGi32 or similar lighting analysis software.
• Familiarity with Procore or other construction administration platforms.
• Experience in mentoring junior engineers and conducting formal QA/QC reviews.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
• Capacity to manage multiple projects and adapt to different levels of complexity and definition.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to the office or job sites as required.
