Electrical Drafter – EV Charging

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Assist an EV client's utility service applications and design documentation.

• Transform preliminary engineering concepts into practical drawing packages.

• Create 30% construction document drawing sets based on architectural, structural, and civil base plans.

• Design the layout for main power distribution routing, equipment sizing footprints, preliminary lighting/receptacle circuitry, panelboard locations, and general notes.

• Establish and uphold CAD standards, details, reusable templates, dynamic blocks, layer standards, and detail libraries.

• Enhance drafting workflows to ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency.

• Import, clean, and manage multidisciplinary background drawings.

• Detect spatial clashes, routing conflicts, and ensure clear working space clearances for electrical switchgear and equipment.

• Collaborate with electrical engineers, project managers, and clients.

• Collect project criteria and integrate review redlines/markups.

• Engage in project kickoff and coordination meetings.

• Comply with SOX control responsibilities where applicable.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical drafting.

• Background in supporting electrical designs for commercial or industrial buildings.

• Proficient in AutoCAD or similar drafting tools for creating drawing packages.

• Experience in developing electrical details and standardized design templates.

• Skilled in creating CD drawing sets using building base plans.

• Experience in developing site plans and single-line diagrams for utility service applications.

• Ability to closely collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and create drawings.
