This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Establish the overarching vision and technical strategy for a fleet monitoring team that encompasses electrical systems and turbine controls/operability.
• Spearhead the design and ongoing enhancement of monitoring infrastructure, tools, dashboards, and analytical workflows.
• Deliver senior technical guidance throughout the entire monitoring lifecycle, from issue investigation and requirements definition to analytic deployment and continuous fleet monitoring.
• Address complex, cross-domain fleet challenges that involve electrical and controls/operability systems.
• Direct monitoring requirements, diagnostic logic, and performance benchmarks for analytics.
• Collaborate with analytics and engineering teams to create, implement, and refine monitoring solutions.
• Supervise the execution of intervention strategies for identified fleet challenges.
• Act as the representative for the monitoring function in discussions across teams and functions.
• Mentor and enhance the technical skills of team members.
• Promote continuous improvement in monitoring techniques, detection logic, and team workflows.
• Collaborate with the team lead on prioritization, technical direction, and capability development without formal managerial responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Extensive experience with wind turbine systems.
• Proven expertise in at least two of the following areas: electrical systems, turbine controls, or system-level operability.
• Established track record in developing or leading fleet monitoring strategies, diagnostic methodologies, or condition-based monitoring initiatives.
• Strong understanding of SCADA data, turbine alarms/events, and techniques for operational data analysis.
• Capability to convert complex technical data into clear, prioritized, and actionable monitoring strategies.
• Experience in collaborating across functions with data/analytics teams, engineering teams, and field/service organizations.
• Excellent technical communication skills.
• Ability to mentor and develop junior engineers.
• Direct experience with wind turbine electrical systems and turbine controls/operability.
• Familiarity with the analytics development lifecycle.
• Proficient in scripting/analysis tools such as SQL, Python, or MATLAB.
• Experience representing technical teams in cross-functional governance or review contexts.
• Previous experience in a newly established team or function.
