Electrical & Controls Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +13 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the layout, design, programming, and testing of sophisticated HVAC and air-handling systems.

• Create and troubleshoot DDC/PLC control programs and control loops.

• Design electrical schematics, controls layouts, and parts lists for tailored equipment.

• Investigate and implement control technologies such as sensors, actuators, VFDs, and communication networks.

• Develop control solutions for intricate air handling and heat transfer systems.

• Assist with R&D prototype testing in laboratories located in Texas and Virginia.

• Offer technical support for products following installation and shipment.

• Educate Controls Technicians on controls programming, troubleshooting, and system operation.

• Aid in updating electrical diagrams and control programs for existing systems.

• Engage in Kaizen and cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives.

• Contribute to Design for Manufacturing (DFM), cost reduction, and product enhancement efforts.

• Generate and maintain training guides, standards, and technical documentation.

• Travel up to 50% to provide support for customers, projects, testing, and field activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience.

• 5–8 years of experience in data center controls, HVAC controls, electrical systems, or a similar engineering field.

• Advanced experience in programming DDC/PLC controllers.

• Strong preference for advanced knowledge of Automated Logic Controls (ALC) Web CTRL.

• Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical.

• Solid understanding of HVAC systems and their controls.

• Practical knowledge of three-phase power systems.

• Capability to design and troubleshoot low-voltage control systems.

• Excellent technical problem-solving and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently while fostering collaboration across Engineering, R&D, Service, and Operations.

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.

• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check, where applicable for the position.
