This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Assist in expanding AECOM’s Power Delivery Practice across the U.S.
• Execute technical tasks on high and medium voltage projects for municipal, utility, commercial, and industrial clients.
• Engage in substation retrofits and new constructions, overhead and underground transmission, distributed generation, renewable energy, and energy master planning.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive electrical design sets by interpreting engineering red lines, markups, and instructions.
• Create and manage 3D models for electrical systems, including layouts for substation equipment, conduit routing, cable tray systems, and device placements.
• Generate electrical construction drawings, encompassing plans, sections, elevations, details, schedules, diagrams, and schematics.
• Modify drawings based on engineering feedback, RFIs, change orders, and construction site markups.
• Ensure compliance of drawings with company/client drafting and BIM standards, client requirements, applicable codes, and industry best practices.
• Manage version control and file organization for CAD and 3D model files.
• Offer training and technical support to design staff regarding the BIM system, project standards, specifications, and content.
• Conduct self/model health checks and peer reviews to ensure accuracy, completeness, and constructability.
• Evaluate issues, propose solutions, and collaborate with engineering staff.
• Work autonomously with minimal direct supervision while collaborating within a project team.
• BA/BS in Engineering or a related field, plus 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Proficiency in high voltage electrical CAD/BIM design.
• A Master’s Degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience in complex, multi-discipline programs/projects and CAD teams.
• Familiarity with Revit 3D modeling environments, specifically for Substation Design.
• Experience in developing and managing BIM execution plans or model matrices.
• Knowledge of Omni Class and WBS applications.
• Understanding of the National Electric Code and other relevant regulations.
• Proficient in utilizing Autodesk 2D software.
• Familiar with Bentley MicroStation.
• Experience working in collaborative model environments like Navisworks and Revizto.
• Skilled in managing Common Data Environments such as ProjectWise and ACC/Forma (Autodesk Construction Cloud).
• Knowledge of vendor documentation and its application as a reference for assigned tasks.
• Exposure to substation facilities, including equipment, layouts, and designs.
• Sponsorship for U.S. employment authorization is not available now or in the future.
