This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +46 more states.
• Deliver targeted course content in a virtual setting.
• Create engaging and dynamic synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.
• Customize learning for all students and differentiate instruction based on their mastery levels.
• Enhance course materials using suitable asynchronous and synchronous tools under the guidance of the principal and coach.
• Oversee the grade book and uphold student academic integrity.
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion.
• Notify administrators regarding any concerns about student performance and progress.
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments.
• Build and maintain a positive rapport with families.
• Communicate promptly with students and learning coaches/parents.
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting issues.
• Track student progress through Stride K12's learning management system.
• Travel for in-person professional development, student assessments, and other school obligations.
• Required: Appropriate state Department of Education Elective Teaching Certification.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Active state teaching license.
• Capability to pass the necessary background check.
• Open to applicants from all 50 states and Washington, D.C.
• Ability to work independently, generally 40+ hours per week.
• Capacity to maintain a distraction-free professional home office during working hours.
• Willingness to travel as needed, averaging once a month and/or approximately 20% of the time.
• Experience working with the specified age group.
• Background in supporting both adults and children in utilizing technology.
• Experience in teaching online and/or in a traditional classroom environment.
• Familiarity with online learning platforms.
• Ability to analyze and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Capacity to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
