This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.
• Develop the editorial line for a specific section.
• Identify relevant themes, debates, scenes, artists, movements, and cultural phenomena.
• Propose and assess ideas and pitches.
• Assign articles to writers and collaborators.
• Work with authors on the approach, structure, and development of their texts.
• Edit articles, essays, interviews, profiles, and other content.
• Ensure that content has sufficient context, depth, and editorial value.
• Oversee the research and documentation of the section's articles.
• Review relevant sources, arguments, and claims.
• Collaborate with fact-checkers and copy editors as needed.
• Coordinate with the Managing Editor to organize deadlines and production flow.
• Contribute to the development of clusters and the knowledge architecture of Rock y Arte.
• Identify connections between content and propose editorial development opportunities.
• Maintain a long-term vision for the section, avoiding reliance solely on current events.
• Apply the editorial, ethical, and research standards of Rock y Arte.
• Experience in editing, cultural journalism, research, writing, or content production.
• Specialized and demonstrable knowledge in the thematic area for which you are applying.
• Excellent reading, writing, and editing skills in Spanish.
• Ability to develop a unique editorial perspective.
• Critical thinking and the ability to work with various sources and perspectives.
• Ability to distinguish between evidence, interpretation, and opinion.
• Good judgment for selecting topics and evaluating proposals.
• Capacity to work with authors and provide clear editorial feedback.
• Organizational skills and autonomy to work in a remote environment.
• Interest in Latin American cultures and their various contexts.
• CV with a clear indication of the area or areas of specialization.
• Links to articles, research, publications, editorial projects, or other work to assess knowledge, analysis, and editing skills.
• Autonomy to contribute to the development of a section and actively participate in shaping its editorial identity.
• Opportunity to develop personal projects within the editorial framework of Rock y Arte.
• Collaborative work with writers, researchers, and other editors.
• Participation in building a connected, contextualized, and long-lasting cultural archive.
