This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon, +1 more state.
• Provide leadership in the training, development, and evaluation of essential driving personnel.
• Ensure the safety of vehicles, operational efficiency, and outstanding customer service.
• Travel to Sunstate locations for assessments and hands-on training.
• Suggest improvements to and support the Driver development program.
• Uphold quality service by implementing and maintaining Sunstate standards and best practices.
• Foster a collaborative environment focused on teamwork and exceptional customer service.
• Work closely with local management to evaluate driving skills, coach Drivers, and establish performance objectives.
• Temporarily assist at assigned branch locations when additional support is required.
• Keep performance assessment documentation up to date.
• Support local management in training, evaluations, mentoring, and follow-up processes.
• Review and maintain training manuals and training materials.
• Facilitate and assist in the implementation and enforcement of the safety training program.
• Communicate and ensure compliance with Federal DOT and state/local regulations.
• Develop and empower employees to make informed business decisions.
• Support drivers in obtaining various types of commercial driver licenses.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
• At least 5 years of experience as a professional Sunstate Driver.
• Strong understanding of and commitment to Sunstate’s safety culture.
• Proven positive safety record.
• Familiarity with DriveCam and the coaching process.
• Completion of a professional Driving Course.
• Strong driving history and knowledge of defensive driving techniques.
• Highly skilled and knowledgeable in operating a variety of vehicles is preferred.
• Travel by ground and air to Sunstate locations and/or educational seminars is required.
• Exceptional coaching and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication abilities.
• Knowledgeable and proficient in CDL Driver-related processes and procedures.
• Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
• Ability to multitask, work with urgency, assimilate new information, and resolve issues.
• Capability to monitor and assess Driver/Customer interactions and provide constructive feedback on performance.
• Understanding of traffic laws, safe driving practices, Federal DOT regulations, and state/local regulations.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Valid driver’s license and CDL required.
• Proficiency in English is mandatory; Spanish is preferred.
• Physical ability to walk, stand, stoop, bend, and lift up to 90 pounds.
• Required to hold a Class A Driver's License.
