Drilling Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more locations.

📋 Description

• Oversee and provide support for a varied range of drilling projects, encompassing exploratory drilling, solution-mining wells, geothermal wells, and disposal wells.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to formulate well designs, drilling programs, and execution strategies.

• Manage the entire project lifecycle from the development of proposals and project planning to execution.

• Ensure adherence to schedule and budget objectives.

• Lead efforts in drilling engineering and consulting.

• Create detailed well designs and comprehensive drilling programs.

• Prepare designs for casing and tubulars.

• Develop drilling fluid and mud systems.

• Formulate cementing programs.

• Create well testing and completion programs.

• Prepare and manage Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) documents, along with cost estimates and budget approvals.

• Coordinate with drilling contractors, service providers, and project stakeholders.

• Provide oversight for safe, efficient, and compliant field operations.

• Monitor project performance, identify potential risks, and implement effective solutions.

• Work alongside clients and internal technical teams to deliver practical, cost-effective engineering solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in petroleum, geological, or mining engineering.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in drilling engineering.

• Strong technical expertise in well design and the development and execution of drilling programs.

• Previous experience in AFE preparation, cost tracking, financial accountability, and procurement services.

• Established client relationships with the capability to support business development initiatives.

• Experience in completions engineering and design is considered an asset.

• Professional license or the ability to obtain one.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines while exercising sound judgment and working independently.

• Valid driver's license and readiness to travel as necessary.

• Must be open to travel up to 10% of the time.
