Drilling Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more locations.

📋 Description

• Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from proposal creation and planning to successful execution, ensuring adherence to schedule and budget goals.

• Direct drilling engineering and consulting initiatives for exploratory drilling, solution mining, geothermal, and disposal well projects.

• Create well designs and detailed drilling programs, encompassing casing and tubular design, drilling fluid and mud systems, cementing strategies, and well testing and completion processes.

• Prepare and manage Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) documents, which include cost estimates and budget approvals.

• Formulate drilling cost estimates and project timelines.

• Collaborate with drilling contractors, service providers, project stakeholders, clients, and internal technical teams.

• Provide project oversight to guarantee safe, efficient, and compliant field operations.

• Track project performance, recognize risks, and implement effective solutions.

• Offer practical and cost-efficient engineering solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in petroleum, geological, or mining engineering.

• At least 5 years of experience in drilling engineering.

• Robust technical expertise in well design and the development and execution of drilling programs.

• Previous experience in AFE preparation, cost monitoring, financial accountability, and procurement services.

• Strong client relationship skills and the capability to support business development initiatives.

• Experience in completions engineering and design is a plus.

• Professional license or the potential to obtain one.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines while demonstrating sound judgment and working independently.

• Valid driver’s license and readiness to travel as necessary.

• Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time.
