This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop comprehensive shop drawings, fabrication drawings, permit drawings, and installation drawings for bespoke signage projects.
• Create precise CAD drawings informed by architectural plans, surveys, project specifications, and client needs.
• Generate layouts, elevations, sections, mounting details, and fabrication packages.
• Analyze architectural drawings, engineering plans, construction documents, and design specifications.
• Create drawings for channel letters, monument signs, pylon signs, wall signs, wayfinding systems, ADA signage, illuminated signage, and other custom sign varieties.
• Manage drawing revisions in response to customer feedback, engineering evaluations, and project modifications.
• Ensure that drawings adhere to permitting standards, local building regulations, ADA requirements, and project specifications.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Designers, Estimators, Fabrication, and Installation teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assemble drawing packages for permitting, engineering assessment, fabrication, and installation.
• Conduct thorough reviews of drawings for accuracy, constructability, manufacturability, and completeness prior to release.
• Produce material callouts, dimensions, bills of materials, and fabrication details.
• Contribute to value engineering by identifying ways to enhance fabrication efficiency and decrease production costs.
• Organize drawing revisions, project documentation, and technical files.
• Liaise with vendors, subcontractors, engineers, and internal teams regarding drawing updates and technical specifications.
• Assist production and installation teams by addressing technical drawing inquiries and supplying revisions as required.
• Oversee multiple projects concurrently while adhering to deadlines.
• Minimum of 2.5 years of demonstrated experience as a Technical Draftsman, CAD Designer, Sign Draftsman, or a related drafting position.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software.
• Experience in producing fabrication drawings, shop drawings, permit drawings, and installation documents.
• Strong knowledge of construction documents, architectural plans, engineering drawings, and fabrication processes.
• Preferred experience in custom signage, construction, manufacturing, architectural products, or similar fields.
• Familiarity with sign fabrication techniques, installation practices, permitting protocols, ADA standards, and local building regulations.
• Experience utilizing Adobe Acrobat for PDF markups and document management.
• Preferred familiarity with Bluebeam Revu, NetSuite, Smartsheet, Box, Microsoft Office, and cloud-based project management tools.
• Strong understanding of dimensions, tolerances, materials, and production documentation.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines while working independently.
