This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Prepare and update engineering drawings and diagrams based on markups and design guidance provided by Engineers and Designers, with minimal oversight from senior drafting personnel.
• Create drafting deliverables including 2D and 3D general arrangements, sections, elevations, bills of materials, cable, duct, and bolt schedules, electrical room layouts, equipment layouts, grounding layouts, panel layouts, single-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, wiring drawings, as well as overhead, crossing, and underground distribution drawings.
• Implement company, client, and industry drafting standards in drawing packages and project deliverables.
• Integrate design markups and modifications into drawing packages utilizing AutoCAD, MicroStation, or other sanctioned CAD software.
• Organize drawing files, project documentation, and document management systems in line with company protocols.
• Retrieve, input, and refresh design data within drawings and project databases.
• Conduct basic quality checks to confirm the accuracy, completeness, and adherence to drafting standards of the drawings.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other project team members to guarantee the precise and timely delivery of design documents.
• Engage in design reviews, team meetings, and initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.
• Adhere to established safety, quality, and drafting standards in all work activities.
• Contribute to project delivery by executing assigned tasks within defined schedules and budgets.
• Diploma in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Technology, Drafting Technology, Engineering Design & Drafting Technology, or a related field from an accredited post-secondary institution.
• 2-4 years of drafting experience, ideally in support of utility, industrial, infrastructure, or engineering projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or comparable CAD software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings, drafting principles, document control practices, and drafting standards.
• Capacity to interpret engineering markups and design instructions and effectively apply revisions to project deliverables.
• Strong attention to detail and a dedication to delivering accurate, high-quality outputs.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities with the capability to handle multiple assignments and deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to function effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience with transmission, distribution, or substation projects is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Revit, ACC/Forma, and BIM workflow (model setup, family creation, & clash detection).
• Experience with Revit, Civil 3D, Inventor, GIS, Raster Design, AutoTURN, or other engineering design software is a plus.
• Exposure to AutoCAD customization tools and programming languages such as LISP or VBA is considered beneficial.
