Dosimetrist, Part Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver medical dosimetry services for Radiation Oncology.

• Execute treatment planning, perform calculations, conduct chart checks, and manage record/verify information system tasks.

• Collaborate closely with radiation oncologists, physicists, the radiation therapy supervisor, and radiation therapists.

• Adhere to safety standards concerning radiation, infection control, equipment, radioactive materials, QMP, and NRC regulations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Valid certification as a Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) is essential for remote dosimetry roles.

• Candidates must be board eligible, with CMD certification to be obtained within one year of employment for on-site dosimetry.

• Experience with the Varian Treatment Planning System is preferred.

• Familiarity with the Aria Record/Verify Information System is preferred.

• BLS certification is necessary for on-site dosimetry, but not required for remote dosimetry.

• Comply with radiation safety policies and guidelines.

• Monitor personal radiation safety and exposure.

• Utilize radiation protection devices appropriately.

• Understand the safety measures related to Cerrobend alloy.

• Be knowledgeable about hot lab safety and security protocols.

• Comprehend Code Red responsibilities.

• Follow infection control policies and procedures diligently.

• Be aware of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).

• Adhere to safety policies and procedures of the Radiation Oncology and Radiology Departments.

• Ensure safe operation of equipment.

• Demonstrate competent use of treatment planning and Record/Verify Information systems.

• Exhibit proficiency in calculations and documentation.

• Follow established protocols for handling radioactive materials used in brachytherapy and implants.

• Comply with the Quality Management Program (QMP).

• Adhere to Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) requirements.
