Donor Relations Manager II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Assist the Senior Associate Director of Development for Latin America in reaching the fundraising target of US $40M and the objective of doubling philanthropic revenue by 2030.

• Collaborate with Relationship Managers, Business Units, Divisions, and other Regions to identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with international prospects and donors capable of contributing over US $100,000 to TNC’s initiatives in Latin America.

• Facilitate donor and leadership engagement activities in Belize, Guatemala, and Mexico, which include donor meetings, donor trips, in-person donor events, and leadership visits.

• Oversee internal review processes for solicitations and gifts at local, regional, and global scales.

• Compose personalized donor communications, such as proposals, stewardship notes, and reports, in collaboration with the Donor Communications team.

• Assist in the design and execution of collaborative, complex, and diverse fundraising initiatives.

• Coordinate the efforts of other development professionals and ensure accountability.

• Utilize TNC’s donor database to update donor information, generate reports, conduct analyses, and track and cultivate relationships with donors.

• Persuasively communicate TNC’s mission to a variety of audiences.

• Reinforce travel and event policies and procedures to ensure consistent donor engagement while minimizing organizational risk.

• Ensure adherence to TNC policies, procedures, and compliance with donor, legal, and IRS requirements.

• Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive and emotionally charged information.

• Travel domestically and/or internationally frequently and on short notice.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Demonstrated experience in building and nurturing long-term relationships with donors, volunteers, and staff.

• Proven ability to understand an individual’s interests, capacity, and potential for supporting TNC’s objectives, and to align those interests with TNC’s initiatives.

• Experience in generating reports and analyzing and interpreting data.

• Ability to collaborate across departments and within multiple teams.

• Experience, coursework, or training in fundraising principles and practices.

• Proficiency in English and Spanish.

• Experience in multi-cultural or cross-cultural environments.

• Strong project management skills, including the ability to coordinate activities led by others and meet deadlines.

• Familiarity with the Latin America Region is a desired qualification.

• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and/or internationally frequently and on short notice, and to work long hours and weekends as necessary.

• Successful completion of The Nature Conservancy’s background screening process.
