This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Take on primary responsibility for P&L management by developing, implementing, and assessing the Division budget while achieving or surpassing performance targets.
• Champion a “Digital First” strategy for content creation and distribution throughout ACC.
• Lead the strategy for clinical policy, as well as the modernization and optimization of scientific statements and clinical Guidelines.
• Oversee the strategic business relationship with Elsevier, managing contractual obligations, performance metrics, and financial aspects.
• Foster a proactive, ownership-oriented team culture.
• Identify, structure, and spearhead strategic alliances with data, technology, and AI-enabled platforms.
• Represent ACC within the national and international scholarly publishing arena.
• Keep track of evolving usage models in the distribution and consumption of medical content.
• Direct agile Product Management for digital products and platforms that support JACC Journals and ACC clinical policy documents.
• Lead the development and marketing of multi-channel offerings such as self-learning courses, webinars, and journal subscriptions.
• Stay informed on market and industry trends, particularly in AI.
• Ensure outstanding performance in publishing functions across various platforms and formats.
• Build and nurture relationships with external stakeholders and leaders.
• Coach and mentor a high-performing team while establishing clear responsibilities, objectives, and goals.
• Set and track financial performance objectives for product lines, including budgeting, expenses, and forecasting.
• Bachelor’s degree; a graduate degree is preferred.
• Over 10 years of progressive experience in publishing, specifically in peer-reviewed medical or scientific publishing.
• More than 10 years of leadership and management experience, particularly in budget and financial management.
• Experience in both print and digital publishing.
• Proven track record of launching digital knowledge products.
• Familiarity with mobile platforms and social media.
• Experience in coaching and mentoring team members.
• Ability to build effective teams and foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and manage member relationships.
• Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Strong business acumen and experience in strategic planning.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Capacity to adapt to shifting priorities and environments.
• Proven success in originating and executing innovative strategic partnerships, including those involving technology and AI-enabled platforms.
• Ability to cultivate and empower a proactive, accountable team culture.
