District Safety Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with field management, team members, operations, and safety departments to foster safety ownership and pinpoint areas for improvement.

• Oversee safety management initiatives, including emergency response plans, safety award programs, HAZMAT recertification, FDA compliance, driver recertification, OSHA certification programs, and NUCO2 certification initiatives.

• Organize and deliver safety training sessions for NUCO2 employees.

• Document, lead, and engage in accident investigations; conduct root cause analyses and suggest preventive measures.

• Act as the primary liaison for workers’ compensation and general liability insurance processes.

• Maintain a monthly KPI dashboard with trend analyses for the designated district.

• Facilitate monthly Safety Committee meetings and conduct facility inspections; document and distribute minutes, tracking action items to their completion.

• Ensure that post-accident drug screenings are conducted as mandated.

• Educate and mentor drivers on relevant tools, equipment, and safe driving practices.

• Schedule and perform ride-alongs to assess driver knowledge, operational behaviors, and adherence to federal regulations.

• Execute safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments; recommend corrective actions and oversee their implementation.

• Keep accurate safety records and reports, submitting them to regulatory agencies as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma is required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion or a related field is preferred.

• A minimum of 5 years of operations management experience in a comparable industry.

• At least 3 years of experience with CO2 beverage systems.

• First Aid/CPR certification is necessary.

• A Commercial Driver’s License, at least Class B, with HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements.

• Experience in developing and delivering safety training programs.

• Capability to conduct accident/injury scene investigations and root cause analyses.

• Proficiency in performing onsite DOT, OSHA, and FDA inspections.

• Understanding of EPA regulations and hazardous waste spill reporting requirements and recovery protocols.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Ability to navigate custom databases and online document management systems.

• Proven safety performance with an accident rate and recordable injury rate below 1.00 for the past 3 years.
