District Manager – W NC

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary liaison for distributors and major retailers in Western North Carolina.

• Assist in the formulation of annual business plans under the guidance of the Zone Manager.

• Propel the achievement of annual and regional business targets.

• Execute sanctioned business strategies and tactics within the designated territory.

• Communicate and implement programs at both wholesale and retail levels to meet sales, distribution, promotional, and merchandising goals.

• Maintain regular contact frequency with designated wholesalers and retailers.

• Create local market strategies to fulfill sales targets.

• Offer guidance and support to assigned distributors.

• Oversee retail execution strategies and initiate activities for assigned markets.

• Monitor product inventory levels and ensure proper inventory rotation.

• Conduct trimester assessments based on the Annual Business Plan.

• Track distribution, year-to-date sales volumes, pricing benchmarks, competitive activities, retailer and chain volume trends, and co-op budget expenditures.

• Develop and execute corrective action plans as necessary.

• Manage distributor and retailer relationships, ensuring alignment with portfolio and brand objectives.

• Identify and address issues with underperforming packages.

• Establish distribution targets and compile key account target lists.

• Submit reports on distribution progress.

• Reinforce distribution expectations, shelf configurations, and merchandising standards.

• Oversee local sampling initiatives and engage with consumers and retailers at events and trade shows.

• Set and monitor point-of-sale budgets and allocate point-of-sale materials accordingly.

• Conduct sales presentations and planning sessions with distributor sales teams.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including National/Chain Account Managers, Marketing, and Brewery Operations.

• Provide written summaries of meetings, retail activities, progress tracking, co-op budgets, and market opportunities.

• Interact with consumers and retailers to resolve issues.

• Perform basic troubleshooting and corrective maintenance on draft beer systems when qualified.

• Manage the distributor bill-back process in compliance with DGY policies.

• Must reside in or around Charlotte, NC.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

• Valid driver's license with a strong driving record.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to articulate clearly and persuasively in all circumstances.

• Strong listening skills and effective group presentation abilities.

• Proficiency in basic trade math.

• Ability to prioritize tasks, maintain attention to detail, and manage time efficiently.

• Capability to set and achieve goals and objectives.

• Ability to follow directives and respond appropriately to management guidance.

• Willingness to take independent actions and calculated risks.

• Creativity and innovative thinking.

• Must be a collaborative team player and highly self-motivated.

• Availability to work traditional and non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Willingness to travel overnight.

• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Familiarity with VIP and mobile applications designed for industry-related purposes.

• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 35 pounds.

• Experience in managing distributor co-op budgets, travel and expense budgets, pricing records, price surveys, and competitive pricing analysis.
