This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Provide comprehensive district leadership during temporary or interim assignments, encompassing vacancies, leaves of absence, and leadership transitions.
• Support and implement the vision of the Regional Director of Operations within the assigned districts.
• Evaluate stores, teams, KPIs, and market conditions to formulate prioritized action plans.
• Maintain or enhance revenue, occupancy, profitability, and other key performance indicators for the company.
• Stabilize and assist underperforming districts or stores.
• Support the onboarding and lease-up processes of newly acquired, converted, and opened facilities.
• Provide transition reports detailing store status, team evaluations, KPI trends, and pending action items.
• Identify and nurture high-potential Property Managers and Assistant Managers for growth and advancement.
• Develop and implement strategies aimed at achieving district revenue, occupancy, and profitability objectives.
• Identify opportunities to foster growth and efficiency across various locations.
• Encourage a collaborative and inclusive culture within the district, ensuring effective communication.
• Manage unexpected events and maintain district operations to established standards.
• Coordinate facility conversions, openings, and other special projects.
• Review store environments and business indicators, pinpoint issues and opportunities, and mentor store employees.
• Conduct visits to competitor properties.
• Oversee financial performance of stores and track KPIs.
• Implement corrective measures to meet financial and operational targets.
• Gather customer feedback and address customer service concerns.
• Monitor controllable expenses and optimize store return on investment.
• Analyze financial reports and respond to district performance trends.
• Conduct monthly site audits and inspections.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Coach store managers on repairs and maintenance while ensuring utilization of the company maintenance program.
• Supervise employees, including interviewing and hiring site managers.
• Train Property Managers, Assistant Managers, District Trainers, and Senior Managers.
• Assess employee performance and enforce company policies and procedures.
• Schedule employee work hours effectively.
• Support the recruitment, retention, and development of store management teams.
• Preferred Bachelor's degree, though not mandatory.
• Equivalent of 3-5 years of relevant work experience and/or training in retail sales, customer service, sales management, and/or multi-unit management.
• Strong preference for prior district-level or multi-unit leadership experience.
• Exceptional leadership abilities and experience in supervising others.
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
• Weekend availability may be occasionally necessary.
• Flexibility to travel up to 50% of the time and accept assignments in different districts on short notice.
• May require temporary relocation or extended stays away from home.
• A strong eagerness and work ethic to excel in a customer service setting.
• General office and telephone proficiency.
• Basic computer skills are essential.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Good organizational skills.
• Capability to work independently and proactively.
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude and composure while supervising across multiple locations.
• A collaborative team-player mindset.
• Skill in quickly establishing credibility and rapport with new teams and adapting leadership style across districts and markets.
• Comfort with change, ambiguity, and shifting priorities.
• Willingness and ability to work remotely when needed.
• Must maintain a valid State Driver's License for Company business driving.
• Required to pass a post-offer, pre-hire background screening, including a multi-state criminal check and DMV records.
