This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Lead full district operations during temporary or interim assignments that address vacancies, leaves of absence, and leadership transitions.
• Implement the vision set forth by the Regional Director of Operations in the designated districts.
• Evaluate stores, teams, KPIs, and market conditions, and develop prioritized action plans accordingly.
• Ensure maintenance or enhancement of revenue, occupancy, and profitability in alignment with company KPIs.
• Stabilize and provide support for underperforming districts and stores.
• Assist in the onboarding and lease-up processes of newly acquired, converted, and opened facilities.
• Generate transition reports detailing store status, team evaluations, KPI trends, and outstanding action items.
• Identify high-potential managers and recommend them for further development and advancement.
• Formulate and implement district strategies focused on revenue, occupancy, profitability, growth, and efficiency.
• Promote collaboration and communication among teams and departments.
• Manage unique events, special projects, facility conversions, and openings.
• Assess store environments and business indicators, pinpoint issues and opportunities, and mentor store employees.
• Conduct visits to competitor properties.
• Oversee financial performance and track KPIs.
• Execute corrective actions to achieve financial and operational objectives.
• Monitor rental rates, discounts, Tenant Protection Plan, customer feedback, and service issues.
• Supervise controllable expenses to optimize return on investment.
• Analyze financial reports and trends in district performance.
• Conduct monthly site audits and inspections.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Guide store managers on repairs and maintenance, ensuring the use of the company maintenance program.
• Supervise staff, interview and hire site managers, and provide ongoing training.
• Assess employee performance, enforce policies, and schedule work hours for employees.
• Foster recruitment, retention, and development of store management teams.
• Cultivate store management teams to provide outstanding customer experiences.
• Bachelor's degree preferred, though not mandatory.
• Equivalent of 3-5 years of relevant experience and/or training in retail sales, customer service, sales management, and/or multi-unit management.
• Prior experience in district-level or multi-unit leadership is highly preferred.
• Exceptional leadership capabilities with experience in supervising others.
• A valid driver's license and dependable transportation are required.
• Availability on weekends may be occasionally necessary.
• Flexibility to travel up to 50% of the time and accept assignments in various districts on short notice.
• Temporary relocation or extended stays away from home may be required.
• A strong eagerness and work ethic to thrive in a customer service environment.
• General office and telephone skills are essential.
• Basic computer proficiency is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Capacity to work independently and achieve set goals.
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude and composure in a multi-location supervisory role.
• Skill in collaborating as a team player.
• Ability to establish credibility and rapport with new teams and adjust leadership style across different districts and markets.
• Comfort with change, ambiguity, and shifting priorities.
• Willingness and capability to work remotely as needed.
• Must hold a valid state driver's license if driving for company business.
• Ability to perform essential physical tasks, including lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must successfully pass a post-offer, pre-hire background check, including a multi-state criminal history and DMV records.
