District Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Supervise all operations of district-assigned company-managed stores

• Recruit, onboard, mentor, and retain high-performing store managers

• Ensure a focus on sales and customer-centric behaviors

• Maintain facility appearance while managing labor and vendor relationships

• Analyze management information tools and financial reports to pinpoint store performance trends and concerns

• Observe competitors through store visits

• Guide store managers on repairs, maintenance, and vendor agreements

• Oversee rental rates, discounts, merchandise, tenant protection plans, truck rentals, and other revenue sources

• Support and hold store managers accountable for marketing strategies and policies/procedures

• Address customer inquiries and resolve issues swiftly

• Identify operational strengths and implement strategies to capitalize on opportunities

• Manage P&L, which includes revenue drivers, payroll, repairs and maintenance, and budget expenses

• Conduct regular property audits to ensure safety and operational standards

• Handle delinquent tenant processes and enhance customer retention

• Cultivate and strengthen client relationships through consistent communication and meetings

• Communicate effectively with employees, colleagues, and customers

• Travel between locations and to other markets, the SAM office in Pennsylvania, and industry trade shows

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven leadership ability in building, developing, and retaining high-performing teams of hourly, nonexempt staff

• Strong passion for sales and delivering exceptional customer service

• Competence to monitor and manage payroll and expenses

• Must possess a valid Driver’s License and have reliable transportation

• Outstanding communication, organization, and time management abilities

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

• Willingness to travel to other markets, the SAM office in PA, and industry trade shows; expected travel is approximately 50% of the time

• Minimum of 40 hours per week commitment

• A Bachelor’s degree and prior storage facility experience are advantageous
