This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
β’ Lead and guide stores to achieve district sales and profit targets.
β’ Create and execute plans, policies, and procedures to enhance profitability.
β’ Analyze store sales and expenses, offer feedback, and present district sales data to the Regional Manager.
β’ Regularly visit district stores to ensure adherence to Petco policies, procedures, and merchandising programs.
β’ Recruit, train, develop, and oversee Store Management while maintaining succession plans.
β’ Ensure associates are equipped to deliver exceptional customer service and take corrective measures when required.
β’ Advise Store Managers on personnel matters, store events, problem-solving, and crisis management.
β’ Establish individual and store objectives and monitor progress.
β’ Visit competitor locations and report on changes in pricing, operations, and policies.
β’ Audit store documentation and cash-control processes.
β’ Ensure compliance with shrink-reduction and Asset Protection initiatives.
β’ Coordinate new store openings and remodels; facilitate equipment repairs.
β’ Ensure that store documentation and corporate communications are completed and directed appropriately.
β’ Monitor merchandise levels, coordinate stock balancing, and audit physical inventory counts.
β’ Complete performance evaluations for Store Managers and make merit increase recommendations for Regional Manager approval.
β’ Ensure employee reviews are conducted before their due dates.
β’ Travel between stores and communicate district conditions to management.
β’ Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.
β’ Capability to exercise individual judgment regarding merchandise placement, staffing decisions, and problem resolution.
β’ Willingness to travel frequently between all district stores, sometimes covering several hundred miles per week.
β’ Competence in recruiting, training, developing, and managing Store Management and store personnel.
β’ Ability to analyze sales and expense data and provide recommendations.
β’ Skills to conduct store inspections, audits, inventory counts, and competitor visits.
β’ Ability to communicate situations impacting the district to the appropriate management or departments.
