This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +2 more states.
• Lead and mentor Area Managers, Depot Managers, and Supervisors.
• Take ownership of service and distribution performance across a designated district, typically encompassing 15–20 depot locations across several states.
• Manage an organization consisting of 100–125 employees.
• Promote safety, operational effectiveness, customer satisfaction, and financial success.
• Set expectations that align with company objectives and Key Performance Indicators, holding leadership accountable.
• Foster a safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA standards, and DOT regulations.
• Employ Field Service Management (FSM) systems to track performance and enhance routing, scheduling, and service execution.
• Provide leadership in recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders on company initiatives.
• Analyze financial and operational performance to enhance efficiency, routing, resource allocation, and cost management.
• Conduct regular site inspections to assess safety, operations, facilities, equipment, and inventory.
• Identify and implement improvement initiatives to boost performance and lower costs.
• Develop and execute operational and staffing plans.
• Lead or support investigations related to incidents, accidents, customer concerns, and employee issues, including root cause analysis and corrective measures.
• Approve payroll, time off, and related administrative tasks for direct reports.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback.
• Travel up to 50% across district locations.
• High School diploma is required.
• Five or more years of experience managing a remote, field-based team in a service operations or distribution setting.
• Experience supervising a remote field-based team of employees.
• Proven ability to oversee multi-site operations and drive performance across geographically spread locations.
• Strong practical knowledge of Field Service Management (FSM) systems and their use in routing, scheduling, and service optimization.
• Demonstrated ability to operate as a hands-on leader in a field setting, willing to travel up to 50%.
• Strong operational and financial insight, with experience managing budgets, analyzing performance metrics, and fostering continuous improvement.
• Established leadership skills with the capability to set direction, develop talent, and achieve business objectives.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with a structured, data-driven approach.
• Effective communication skills, able to engage employees at all levels and clearly present information to leadership and stakeholders.
• Ability to interpret and apply business, technical, and regulatory information, including OSHA and DOT requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• A four-year degree in Business or a related field is preferred.
• CDL, Tanker endorsement, Hazmat endorsement, and Medical Card are preferred.
