District Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Expand the VCT-USA wine portfolio within both off-premise and on-premise channels in the Greater Houston region, including occasional visits to Oklahoma.

• Oversee wine brands within the distributor network and manage key accounts.

• Balance responsibilities across off-premise/independent retail accounts, on-premise accounts, and the execution of retail-chain programming.

• Propel sales activation and implement initiatives to enhance customer relationships and promote commercial growth.

• Manage market-level sales activation and key brand initiatives.

• Cultivate relationships with leading retail accounts and local chains while identifying sales opportunities.

• Develop relationships with distributor teams to amplify efforts and increase brand awareness.

• Organize market work-withs, surveys, and sales blitzes in collaboration with distributor teams.

• Provide daily and weekly market performance summaries and pinpoint execution gaps.

• Monitor program compliance, competitive pricing, and feature execution.

• Implement confirmed chain/brand programs and manage assigned Luxury Brand Collection execution.

• Enhance distribution through focused brand programs.

• Communicate execution progress to the Region Manager and distributor teams.

• Adhere to assigned territory budgets and submit requests for additional spending as needed.

• Manage relationships with district managers, sales representatives, division managers, and chain account managers.

• Attend General Sales Meetings and training sessions as necessary.

• Maintain a market presence 85%–90% of the time.

• Conduct distributor work-withs and develop key accounts.

• Provide market health assessments to ensure pricing aligns with VCT-USA standards.

• Report directly to the Regional Manager.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field, along with a minimum of two to five years of progressive sales experience in the wine and spirits or beverage industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Demonstrated success in alcohol beverage industry sales and account management.

• Comprehensive understanding of on- and off-premise wine channels and trade.

• Knowledge and enthusiasm for commercial and luxury/premium wines.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Proficient public speaking and presentation skills.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills with a high level of integrity.

• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

• Valid Driver’s License with the ability to be insured.

• Willingness to travel approximately 10%–15% overnight, including weekends and evenings as required.

• Travel within the region is necessary.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 30 lbs. frequently.

• Capacity to frequently sit and work at a desk for extended periods.

• Ability to frequently walk and occasionally stand, reach, climb, crawl, squat, kneel, and bend.

• Manual dexterity for keyboarding and frequent computer use.

• Additional physical requirements related to domestic/international air and ground travel.

• Successful completion of a criminal background check, DMV check, and drug screen.

• Verification of citizenship or legal right to work in the United States at the offer stage.
