This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee all investigations within a designated district.

• Mitigate inventory loss by implementing theft awareness and prevention programs alongside store personnel.

• Evaluate store security protocols, including conducting cycle counts and generating reports.

• Identify and address individuals involved in in-store theft and fraudulent actions.

• Finalize investigations and coordinate related reports with law enforcement and the criminal justice system.

• Initiate investigations into internal issues, such as cash overages and shortages.

• React to emergency situations effectively.

• Offer guidance on merchandise protection standards and facilitate awareness training.

• Act as the primary point of contact for the installation and maintenance of camera systems.

• Collaborate with armored car services to assess and address store requirements.

• Partner with alarm companies on setup and ongoing maintenance concerns.

• Conduct interviews with suspects and witnesses, preparing detailed investigation reports.

• Provide testimony during hearings and court proceedings.

• Carry out additional related duties as necessary.


⛳️ Requirements

• Diploma or certificate in Security/Police Studies or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).

• A valid Alberta Security License is required prior to the start date.

• Post-secondary education or equivalent experience (preferred but not mandatory).

• ProServe Certification is required.

• Valid First Aid and CPR certification is preferred.

• Knowledge of Pressure Points Control Tactics (PPCT) will be considered an advantage.

• Familiarity with WHMIS is preferred.

• Understanding of surveillance and apprehension techniques is necessary.

• Training in interview and interrogation will be seen as beneficial.

• At least 2 to 5 years of loss prevention experience is required.

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of management experience is essential.

• Previous experience in retail will be regarded as an asset.

• Must exhibit unquestionable ethics and integrity, with an ability to uphold high confidentiality standards.

• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor, with a readiness to learn and face challenges.

• Ability to work effectively in both collaborative team settings and independently.

• Demonstrate strong leadership capabilities with the ability to make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.

• Exhibit situational awareness and adhere to safe work practices.

• Possess excellent active listening, communication (both written and verbal), and dispute resolution skills.

• Show initiative and the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency.

• Highly organized, with the capability to direct and prioritize tasks appropriately.

• Proven track record of managing workload and meeting critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong skills in problem identification and resolution.

• Ability to be adaptable in alignment with the evolving needs of the company.

• Must be willing and able to work irregular hours, including weekends and occasional overnight shifts to support retail operations.

• Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Teams, Project, and Outlook.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, encompassing both written and verbal communication.

• Must successfully pass a Criminal Record Check.

• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
