Dispatcher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Organize schedules for trucks and personnel

• Maintain regular communication with staff concerning all transportation-related issues

• Oversee employees during turnaround times

• Diagnose equipment issues and offer solutions to clients

• Evaluate and authorize work tickets, logs, timesheets, and leave requests for compliance and precision

• Support the Operations Manager with daily branch operations, including project implementation, general inquiries, asset management, personnel oversight, and service-related matters

• Ensure customer and client satisfaction by surpassing expectations

• Engage in business development efforts by reinforcing relationships with current clients and attracting new ones

• Assist the Operations Manager in enhancing and sustaining branch growth through employee engagement, operational efficiencies, cost reductions, budget management, and equipment upgrades

• Perform additional tasks as directed by the manager

⛳️ Requirements

• At least two years of relevant experience in dispatching Tank Trucks, ideally within the fluid hauling management and/or trucking sector

• Strong understanding of TDG regulations, HOS, weights and dimensions, permitting, load securement, and OH&S standards

• Proven capability to work efficiently within a team or independently, across various functional areas, and with diverse professional disciplines

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are an asset

• Exceptional customer service and communication abilities (both written and verbal)

• Capacity to manage a high-volume and fast-paced workload

• Must be able to make calm and efficient decisions in high-pressure situations

• Detail-oriented and highly organized

• Must successfully pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing

• Minimum valid Class 5 driver’s license (clean 3-year abstract); Class 1 license is considered an advantage

• Valid WHMIS, H2S Alive, TDG, CSO, and Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) or Petroleum Safety Training (PST) are viewed as assets
