Disaster Response Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Analyze global incident notifications and devise response strategies tailored to threat severity and business implications.

• Engage in proactive research to track worldwide threats and events that may impact Airbnb stakeholders.

• Utilize internal tools to communicate relevant information to both internal and external communities as necessary.

• Create and coordinate preparedness and response communications for both external and internal audiences.

• Make vital business decisions by weighing trade-offs and benefits of various options.

• Collaborate on disaster response initiatives with cross-functional teams.

• Act as the primary liaison for the GCM Disaster Response team’s responsibilities and actions.

• Deliver situation reports and critical updates to stakeholders.

• Engage in product and process enhancement initiatives.

• Partner with the operations manager to formulate improvement recommendations.

• Execute additional tasks as requested or assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in global disaster response, threat monitoring and assessment, intelligence analysis, or a related field.

• Proven experience in monitoring, evaluating, and responding to global threats, disasters, and crises.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong attention to detail and a consistent ability to adhere to procedures.

• High reliability to meet scheduling expectations and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Willingness to travel occasionally as needed.

• Availability for a Tuesday-Saturday, 8am-5pm GMT/BST work schedule.

• Flexibility to work during company and national holidays, as well as occasional unexpected hours when required.
